And what a day it has been! Between last night and today, we've had some major breakthroughs and tons of fun!
First, Alex is now letting Ryan hold him - even when I'm in the room!!! This is HUGE, and it's so wonderful to see Ryan get to be the DAD he's been waiting to be!
AND, as you can probably tell from the picture, we had our first outing to the park! We decided to drive so that he could get used to the car (even though it's a very short walk from our house). We expected a lot of crying since he really hated the carseat the first time. We also didn't know how he would handle being at the park, so we went at 7am in hopes that we'd be the only ones there.
Turns out, it wouldn't have mattered! Alex whimpered a bit as we sat him in the carseat, but then he relaxed as was totally fine! **SHOCK** (AND, when we left the park, he went into his carseat without a fuss!)
When we got to the park, everything was wet with dew so we decided to walk along the paths for awhile. He started out clutching me pretty tightly but loosened up enough to let Ryan carry him and to eat some snacks!
Next we decided it was time to get Alex's drumming career started. Check out that back-stick and sweet vibe!
Then we had some good ol' fashioned fun.
Finally, Alex decided to show off how brave he is getting by playing at his water table in the back yard!
I'm so proud of our boy for how far he has come in his first week home. I can't wait to see what the next week will hold!

OMGOSH!!!! HUGE STRIDES IN ONE DAY! So nice to see him having fun with daddy, too! Love the snack idea, wink wink. This is truly a miracle-such a huge turnaround!
